In-House Treatment
Our comprehensive, personalized residential treatment program offers temporary relief from situations that exacerbate addiction; it’s an opportunity to practice a healthy, drug-free life and build the habits necessary for such a life, as well as a set of tools that can bring sobriety within reach. Our program is based on a 12-step model that addresses the underlying factors contributing to addiction.
Depending on the severity of a patient’s addiction, their drug of choice, and their recent usage, detoxification is often the first step of the process. Our medical staff of nurses and physicians supervises patients 24/7 to ensure safety and health and to ease the difficult process of withdrawal from drugs and alcohol.
Graduation from the program is by no means the end of a person’s recovery process. In fact, in many ways, it’s just the start! As patients return to their homes, family, job, and everyday life, they will do so with new tools and knowledge for overcoming addiction. We encourage them to remain plugged in with aftercare. Our aftercare program allows them to remain plugged in with a fellowship of recovery that will support them in achieving long-term recovery goals.

The admissions process is easy to start. You can begin the admissions process online, or you can call our 24/7 hotline at 1-866-795-HOPE (4673) to take the free addiction screening over the phone. This screening covers a wide range of topics including medical history, drugs of choice, family situation, and income information. If you are in Abilene, you can come to the office at 1546 N. 2nd Street and conduct the screening in person.
You will normally hear back from Serenity House very quickly with the results of your screening and our recommendation for treatment programs. Once you are admitted to our residential treatment program, depending on your level of recent drug use, your first few days may be spent in detoxification. Our professional detox medical personnel will help you adjust to a drug-free life in a way that is safe and as comfortable as possible. Detox can take anywhere from 3-12 days
