Relapse Prevention Program:
- 1. Focuses on those specific issues which appear to have led to the relapse of those who have completed a treatment program within the last 6 months.
- 2. Focuses on those dynamics which will motivate the individual to rebound more vigorously with the self-help programs of AA and NA.
Their Programs
The Treatment Program is for applicants that have been drug and alcohol free for 5 days, who are medically stable (as born out by their physical exam and negative TB test result), are physically and mentally capable of taking care of self and have the cognitive ability to actively participate in the program.
The program lasts 28-90 days depending on the residents needs.
The rehabilitation program revolves around individual and group counseling, didactic lectures, audio and visual materials, readings and written assignments related to the disease of addiction and recovery from the disease along with participation in productive activities (chores, community service, employment) and participation in twelve step meetings.
Program topics include: medical aspects of addiction, denial, post acute withdrawal, grief, anxiety, shame, self esteem, guilt, family relationships/ dynamics, codependency, enabling, disease of addiction, feelings, whole person, conflict resolution, relapse, Steps 1-3, Big Book and NA Basic Text study, motivation for change, use of time, communication, tools for staying sober/clean, nutrition, exercise and gratitude.
The Relapse Prevention Program focuses on the patient who has completed a 28-day inpatient program within the last six months, but has relapsed. Admissions requirements are the same as above.
This program addresses specific issues that led to the relapse and the dynamics which will motivate the individual to bond more vigorously with his recovery plan, support network and recovery goals.
The Transitional Living / Halfway House Program is for applicants who have completed the treatment program or relapse prevention program and need to practice the skills they have learned while returning to work or other productive activities while re-engaging with concerned others.
Residents are assisted in securing identification, determining employment skills, preparing resumes, budgets, schedules, and locating suitable employment, while continuing their involvement in the recovering community.
They participate in classes/projects in such areas as: decision making, budgeting and money management, family relationships, goal setting, nutrition, affirmations, leisure, network building, stages of recovery, steps and traditions, gifts of recovery, letting go, relapse dynamics, and feedback with peers, staff, volunteers and sponsors.
Residents are facilitated in their move to their next level of treatment, greater involvement with the recovering community and more independence.
